As one of countries leading providers of ladies fashion wear and accessories, the Foschini brand is well known throughout South Africa and 2nd largest retail group in the country.
Foschini needed a system that would allow them to mange and track commitments made on garment and fabric manufacturers prior to an official order being raised.
The cost of these “commitments” never making it onto the order system could be immense for a fashion retailer that is required to ensure that stores are always optimally stocked.
The system was required to be implemented by the end of July 2004 and relate technologies started the design phase in February 2004. The system was built as a web application utilizing the .NET framework. Various integration points were created to utilize data resident in the Foschini Order Management system.
The system was delivered on time and within budget and is currently a mandatory tool for the early season planning. The simplicity of design and ease of use have made it a popular system with the users.
