Retail Credit Solutions (RCS) is the preferred provider of Credit and Financial Services to a growing number of retailers and consumers in South Africa.
The proliferation of faxes, e-mails and other unstructured documents being received by customer contact centres instigated the development of DIAS. A simple SQL based application that allows for the storage and subsequent retrieval of many different types of contacts, DIAS is an integral part of a much larger process-management architecture. A Customer Services call center was receiving over 700 faxes and e-mails a day. These unstructured documents were not being stored or indexed in any consistent manner and because of this, the completion of customer requests was difficult to manage.
In April 2004 relate technologies started the process of analysing, designing and developing a system to store and index these unstructured documents. The DIAS system was deployed in September 2004 and has been in operation since. As at May 2005, the customer services agents were storing and indexing up to 1000 faxes and e-mails daily.
